We are passionate about public safety and fighting crime

The Public Safety Foundation will help make the UK the safest place to live, work, and raise a family. We will champion the fight against crime and disorder. We will speak up for the silent law-abiding majority.

We will help achieve this by rebooting the relationship between the public and the police, and helping focus our politicians, public institutions and wider society on fighting crime and disorder.

Sir Robert Peel, Former Prime Minister and Home Secretary

“Many offences … would be entirely prevented or repressed by the mere presence of an independent and well-organised police within the district.”

We recognise that the poorest suffer most from crime and disorder

Everyone suffers when crime and disorder goes unchecked in a neighbourhood. Crime and disorder undermines the public safety and economic prosperity that offers the promise of a better life.

A more prosperous Britain must be a safer Britain. That means being relentless in fighting crime and disorder – including the volume and quality of life crimes that too often go unsolved and unpunished.

Rt Hon David Lammy MP, MP for Tottenham

“No one should trivialise the misery that too many vulnerable people on low incomes suffer because of a daily threat of crime and disorder.”

We stand up for victims and the law-abiding majority

Victims of crime are often forgotten in a criminal justice landscape that can have more enthusiasm and appetite for helping the criminal. This needs to change, and it will only do so by ensuring that we stand up for victims and the law-abiding majority.

We will ensure that the voice of law-abiding majority is heard loud and clear within and beyond our criminal justice system. We will also ensure politicians make better decisions and do the right thing when it comes to fighting crime and disorder.

Rt Hon Priti Patel MP, Former Home Secretary

“For too long the justice system has been skewed in favour of offenders, focusing on help and support for them while neglecting those who are most affected by their crimes.”

We stand with the men and women who keep us all safe

It is the first duty of government to protect the citizen going about their law-abiding business. This duty falls to the good men and women of policing, wider law enforcement, and the other professionals who work to protect us from criminals.

It’s vital that their voice is heard. Without brave men and women putting themselves at risk to keep us safe, we would all be much poorer and less safe. We will stand with and stand up for our dedicated crimefighters.

William J. Bratton, Former NYPD and LAPD Commissioner

“The Public Safety Foundation’s focus on supporting the police to fight crime and disorder is much-needed in these challenging times. ”

We believe supporting families and tackling drugs is vital

Beyond world-class policing and an effective criminal justice system, it is vital that families and parents are supported and encouraged in the vital role they play in shaping the next generation.

We must also tackle the drugs that wreck lives, tear families apart, and undermine the opportunity for children and adults to live productive and fulfilling lives. This also means supporting recovery-based approaches.

Dame Carol Black, Independent Review of Drugs

“We can no longer, as a society, turn a blind eye to recreational drug use. They are causing considerable harm.”
