Another week of great work making our streets safer – from as far afield as Redbridge in London to Middlesbrough.
Foot Patrol of the Week
The public love to see police officers out on foot, patrolling their local neighbourhoods, and are especially fond of the iconic beat duty or ‘custodian’ helmets. It was therefore our pleasure to highlight the work of Sgt Kiran Patel in the West Midlands, who spent time this week out on foot in Alum Rock and Washwood Heath.
👮 Our #FootPatrolOfTheWeek goes to Sgt Kiran Patel and colleagues in #AlumRock and #WashwoodHeath. Looking smart on foot with the iconic helmet, all while tackling crime and anti-social behaviour impacting on local residents. Thank you for all you do! 👍 https://t.co/Q6NtWMiAOc

Community Payback
Probation don’t just have a critical role to play in helping protect the public from those who are on community sentences or on licence from prison, they can also help make our streets cleaner and safer by deploying Community Payback. This week probation in Middlesbrough put some convicted criminals to work cleaning up Albert Park, clearing litter and weeding flower beds ahead of planting. Great work!
👷 Cleaner streets and public spaces are safer streets and public spaces. More great work from probation cleaning up a park – this time Albert Park in #Middlesbrough, clearing litter, weeding ahead of wild flower planting. #CommunityPayback #CP50 https://t.co/40xUJlBxRQ

Arrest of the Week
Multiple arrests as part of ‘Operation Skomer’ in Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham town centres for offences including failing to appear at court, carrying a knife, possessing drugs, and even on suspicion of murder. Excellent work!
🥇 More great examples of recent crime-fighting in south London, where officers have been using their #stopandsearch powers to good effect, making arrests for failing to appear at court, carrying a knife, possessing drugs, and even on suspicion of murder. https://t.co/QiUam9S1tQ

Stop and Search
Stop and search is a vital tool for the police to use to make our streets safer – as demonstrated by these officers in Brierley Hill, who stopped a suspected stolen vehicle, only to find balaclavas and a lock knife. The driver was arrested and the stolen vehicle recovered. Undoubtedly helping to make our streets safer.
🎯 Brilliant work from police officers in #BrierleyHill making our streets safer. They used their powers to #stopandsearch a stolen vehicle – recovering balaclavas and a lock knife. The driver was arrested and the stolen vehicle recovered. https://t.co/INr25gXB7q

Traffic Stop
Meanwhile in Staffordshire, police officers stopped a van that had made off from police on a number of previous occasions. The driver was found to be wanted for four offences and was arrested – and the van was seized. Excellent work helping to make the streets of Staffordshire safer.
🚔 A great bit of crime-fighting teamwork from police in #Staffordshire saw this traffic stop come up trumps. The van was seized and the driver arrested. The driver was wanted in relation to multiple offences. https://t.co/L8fcacm6oa

Warrants and Raids
Finally, our warrant of the week goes to police in Redbridge who raided an address, arrested three suspects, and imposed a Closure Order preventing anyone else from accessing the property for the next three months. These are a vital power to help stamp out crime and improve the quality of life for local residents. Well done all!
🏠 Our #WarrantOfTheWeek goes to the hard-working police officers in #Redbridge who raided an address, arrested three suspects and used a Closure Order to help cut crime and make the neighbourhood safer. https://t.co/TizVUDsxzr
