Writing in today’s Telegraph, our Founder explores how people are too afraid to intervene when they see others being victimised, no longer trusting the law to come down on their side:
“As any police officer will tell you, Britain has been developing a walk-on-by or stop-and-watch culture for years. The smartphone and social media are adding rocket boosters to the trend.
In the minds of many, getting involved risks serious injury or even death. They aren’t always wrong.
Just last year, Max Richardson, a young father, confronted a cannabis-smoking teenager for scaring children in a park. He was stabbed to death for daring to care. In the words of Essex Police, “he was killed for simply caring about the safety of his neighbourhood”.
His name ought to ring out across our media and politics, but like so many other victims of criminals and thugs, our elites appear to have little interest.”
